Newly appointed head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul-Karim Zito, has named a 25-man squad for the club’s trip to South Africa to face Kaizer Chiefs in the 2025 Toyota Cup.

New captain Samba O’Neil was the first player to be named in the list, confirming the coach’s trust in the Congolese towering centre back. Star striker Kwame Poku, who was their main man for goals in the second round of last season, is also named in the list. Albert Amoah, who stole the show in the first round of the 2024-25 season, is also part.

Henry Ansu, Lord Amoah, Mohammed Camara, Saaka Dauda, Emanuel Antwi, and Peter Amidu Acquah will all be on the plane to South Africa.

New signings Lord Hilary Adabor from Samartex, Shayibu Abubakar from Karela United, Legon Cities’ Joseph Amoah, Zakaria Fusseini and Francis Acquah, both from Berekum Chelsea, are part of the team to face Kaizer Chiefs.

The much-anticipated Toyota Cup is scheduled to be played on 26th July 2025 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, where The Amakhosi will face the Porcupine Warriors.

Asante Kotoko will return to Ghana after the game and pitch camp in Cape Coast, where they will continue their preparations for the 2025-26 season.
