Ghanaian debutants Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman have progressed to the final round of the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup after defeating Victoria United and Elect Sport respectively.
Both teams won in the first leg with Nsoatreman smashing their Chadian opponents 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium while Samartex triumphed by a lone goal in Cameroon.
The second leg was expected to be a successful one for the Ghanaian clubs and they expertly dispatched their opponents.
Ghana Premier League champions Samartex won 1-0 against Cameroonian champions Victoria United. Isaac Afful’s 8th minute strike made the difference between the two. The Timber Giants won 1-0 after 90 minutes making it 2-0 on aggregate.
Nsoatreman won 2-0 in Cameroon against Elect Sport. Walid Neymah Fusseini and Stephan Diyou’s goals from either half helped the MTN FA Cup winners record a 5-0 aggregate win.
The final round will see Samartex face Moroccan double winners Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League. The winner will progress to the Money Zone.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, Nsoatreman will lock horns against Algerian side Constantine.
Both fixtures will be played in the second and third weeks of September.
Constantine will host Nsoatreman in Algeria in the first leg with the Ghanaians playing home in the second leg.
Samartex will play the first leg in Ghana with Raja Casablanca having home advantage in the second leg.
