Chelsea fans got the opportunity to enjoy their new addition, Willian Estevao, who is set to join them for the 2025-26 season.

The 17-year-old talented Brazilian forward was in blistering form against his future club Chelsea in the quarter-final clash between his beloved Palmeiras and Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Chelsea defeated the Brazilians 2-1 to book a place in the semi-finals, where they will meet another Brazilian outfit, Fluminense.

Cole Palmer’s fine finish earlier on put the Blues ahead, helping them to end the first half in a narrow lead. In the second half, Palmeiras equalised through the forward Estevao whose right-footed shot hit the underside of the net via the crossbar.

The Blues went ahead to snatch the win with goalkeeper Weverton scoring an own goal to eliminate Palmeiras.

After the game, the man of the television award winner Estevao thanked his Portuguese manager Abel Ferreira for the total schooling at Palmeiras.

“Dear teacher [Ferreira], thank you so much for everything,” Estevao said. “I love this guy so much. I thank God every day for having put Abel in my life, and he taught me that if you are not tracking back, you won’t play. He taught me how to play and he trained me. I learned a lot with him and thank God that Abel and Palmeiras are in my life. They opened the door for me. I was deeply happy in Palmeiras and my family know how thankful I am,” Estevao said.

Estevao will return to Brazil with the Palmeiras entourage and make a long trip via the Atlantic Ocean to London, where he will commence his European football journey.
