Ghana head coach Chris Houghton in an interview after Ghana’s entertaining 2-2 against Egypt applauded his team and expressed his optimism ahead of the Mozambique big clash.

“I think that by the performance today, this is a far better performance than the game against Cape Verde and I think this is s game that most people will accept we deserved to win but unfortunately, we didn’t.

Chris Houghton thinks that Ghana must replicate the performance they put up against Egypt when they meet Mozambique in the final game of the group.

“But we need to give the same type of performance in our last game to give us the chance to go through”, revealed Houghton.

What are you so proud of today from your boys when quizzed?

“Just the level, the level of the performance- the high energy, the fact that we scored goals, the fact that we were prepared right for it, the fact that we had good controls in periods of the game against Egypt and probably more that we were up against a team today that is one of the favourites to win it”, added Chris.

On the support Ghanaians are showing the team, Chris Houghton appreciated the fans for their unconditional love.

“We value the support, and we understand always, we understand always the moment when our supporters are disappointed that we don’t get the result and the performance they want to see.

“Today I think they saw a performance they would have liked and we must be sure that we take this into the next game”, Chris concluded.

Ghana’s next game is a must-win game against Mozambique. If Ghana doesn’t win, they will be out of the competition.
