Electricity Company of Ghana has disconnected the light at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

On the morning of 14th February 2025, ECG finally did what they were supposed to do after a series of warnings to the National Sports Authority over unpaid bills for the electricity used at the stadium by disconnecting the lights.

A total of GHS 130,000 is being owed by the NSA, per information from ECG.

All the corners of the stadium, from the pitch, stands, offices, and the entire outside of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, will be black whenever night falls.

Baba Yara Sports Stadium is the home grounds of the Black Stars, Asante Kotoko, King Faisal and inter-school sporting events in the Ashanti Region.
