A Fulani herdsman, Mahmoud has allegedly murdered his four-month-old pregnant wife, Barikisu at Frimpongkrom in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.
Information indicates that Barikisu had long suffered domestic abuse at the hands of her husband.
She is said to have confided in their landlord and his wife about her intention to return to her hometown in Northern Ghana due to the persistent maltreatment.
However, Mahmoud reportedly convinced her to stay promising to change his behaviour- a short-lived promise.
On the evening of the incident, while the couple were having dinner, Mahmoud allegedly rose abruptly and, without any provocation, slaughtered his pregnant wife. Mahmoud fled after the act but was arrested.
