GFA fines Bofoakwa Tano 20,000 Cedis and a three-home match ban for assaulting Maxwell Konadu

Tano Bofoakwa has been banned from Sunyani Coronation Park for three home games for assaulting Nsoatreman coach Maxwell Konadu. They are to pay a 20,000 Cedis fine as well.

On 19th November 2023 in Week 11 of the Ghana Premier League, Bofoakwa drew 0-0 against Nsoatreman and soon after the game, Nsoatreman’s head coach Maxwell Konadu was severely beaten by Boafoakwa fans.

The Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee has responded by handing a three-match home ban and also a 20,000 Cedis fine to Tano Bofoakwa.

After thorough investigations by the Disciplinary Committee of the FA, Bofoakwa Tano has breached Article 16(1)(C), Article 16(2)(B) and Article 16(2)(a) during the match.

The Discipline Committee also has ordered the GFA to financially support Nsoatreman coach Maxwell Konadu and referee Robert Musey who was also also attacked by the hooligans.

Defender Bright Boakye Kyereh, 22, has received two two-match ban and a fine of 2,000 cedis with immediate effect for violating the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.

Bofoakwa Tano officials, Abubakar Mohammed (Team Manager), Isaac Tannor (Physiotherapist), Seidu Manan (Welfare Manager) and Ernest Adu (Massage Therapist) have each received a dine of 2,000 Cedis each and match bans for physically assaulting match officials in the game.
