Ghanaian teenager Isaac Assibu has signed a new long-term contract with Swedish champions Malmö FF and has been promoted to the club’s first-team squad, marking a significant milestone in his young career.

The 18-year-old winger has committed his future to the Allsvenskan champions in a deal that will keep him at the club until beyond 2030.

Assibu joined Malmö FF from Ghana’s West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in 2025 and has enjoyed an impressive rise through the club’s youth ranks.

His performances in the academy have earned him recognition from the club’s coaching staff, culminating in a permanent place in the senior squad and a contract extension that reflects Malmö’s confidence in his potential.

The latest development represents another major step for one of Ghana’s promising young footballers, who is now expected to continue his progress at one of Scandinavia’s most successful clubs.

For Assibu, the promotion offers an opportunity to establish himself at first-team level while gaining valuable experience in both domestic and European competitions with the Swedish champions.

His journey also highlights the growing reputation of WAFA in producing talented players capable of making the transition to European football.
