Ghanaian Politician Nana Obiri Boahen has blasted the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), following the poor running of football at the West African Country.

Ghana, having been a breeding nation of football talents in decades past have failed to embrace modern trends of football administration. The various national teams have struggled to make difference at major tournaments with the domestic league fallen off to the pecking order in rankings.

The Ghana Premier league has no space in a list of 30 best leagues in Africa, which gradually has become a major worry, leading to many calling for the head of the Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku. The last straw that broke the camel’s back, was several decisions taken by the leaders prior to Ghana’s participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking to Akakpo Agodji in an interview, Law practitioner and a sports commentator Nana Obiri Boahen disclosed that, the Ghanaian toptier football is nothing to write home about and lacks quality across board.

“Ghana football is just not attractive anymore. As to who will become the next FA President isn’t my worry”

“Whether Kurt Okraku will continue or vacate, I don’t really care about it. Honestly, looking at where the level of Ghana football has gotten to, it does not attract me in anyway”

“We lack individual talents, recently I watched Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Asare, he was good. One Kotoko player and a couple of players at Aduana but in totality we don’t have much talents anymore”.

“The leaders are not running the game well only concentrated on looting and sharing monies amongst them. The administrative now is zero”, He said.
