Nations FC are little by little becoming pretenders of the league title. On Sunday, the relegation-threatened Heart of Lions massacred the second-placed Nations FC by 3-0. Mohaison Mahmoud’s first-half strike was enough to put Bashir Hayford’s side ahead. In the second half, Akwasi Duah and Nana Oppong each scored to ensure an emphatic win for Heart of Lions. The defeat means that Nations FC are winless in their last three games. They remain in second place trailing Samartex, the leaders by 5 points.

League leaders Samartex lost 1-0 to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Enock Morrison’s penalty ensured a first win for the Porcupine Warriors in eight games.

Bibiani Gold Star’s 1-0 win over Aduana Stars made it seven consecutive home wins since Frimpong Manso took over.

Bofoakwa Tano’s Bashiru Abu’s 37th-minute strike cancelled out Boa-At Regain’s 29th-minute goal for Bechem United as the game ended 1-1. Tano Bofoakwa is outside the relegation zone only because of a superior goal difference over Karela United.

Collins Kudjoe struck in the 94th minute to secure an important 2-1 win for Nsoatreman at Nalerigu over RTU. Mohammed Mankuyeli put RTU ahead in the first half. An own goal by Issah Ahmed levelled the scores for Nsotreman before Collins Kudjoe scored to add salt to RTU’s injury.
