Kuami Eugene says he wants to reach the level of influence associated with Shatta Wale, where an artiste can remain relevant without having to release music continually.

The singer says financial success is no longer his main motivation, with royalties, publishing income and investments now providing him with considerable returns and financial stability.

Speaking on Pluzz FM on November 5, 2026, the award-winning musician said his priorities were changing. Rather than focusing on releasing songs as frequently as possible for financial gain, he is now concentrating on building a legacy that can endure over time.

The Angela hitmaker explained that his immediate objective was to consolidate what he had already achieved and establish a reputation strong enough to sustain his relevance without a constant flow of new material.

Kuami Eugene compared his career to an academic journey, describing himself as having moved beyond the foundational stages and now preparing to graduate.

That change in outlook has also affected his approach to releasing music. He is intentionally reducing the frequency of his output to find out whether his supporters will remain committed during longer periods between projects.

His latest single, Stranger, will therefore be given more time to reach audiences before he releases another project. The decision is intended to test the loyalty of his fan base and challenge the release pattern that has previously shaped his career.

Kuami Eugene said slowing down does not mean he is stepping away from music. Instead, he believes the audience he has built will continue to support him even without the regular stream of new songs.

He also highlighted the growing effect of TikTok on the way music is consumed. In his view, the platform has helped create pressure for musicians to keep supplying new material in order to maintain audience attention.

The singer’s comments reflect a gradual shift from pursuing immediate income to protecting his long-term standing in the music industry. Royalties, publishing rights and investments, he said, have reduced the financial pressure that once made frequent releases a priority.

By allowing Stranger more time and spacing out future projects, Kuami Eugene hopes to establish whether his influence can continue through his existing catalogue and fan base, rather than depending solely on newly released music.
