Ghanaian actor and film producer Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has recounted the frightening moments passengers experienced aboard a PassionAir flight from Kumasi to Accra, describing how panic broke out after the aircraft began making unusual movements mid-air.

The actor, who was travelling alongside Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene and former Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Chief Executive Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, said the incident left passengers terrified.

Speaking in a telephone interview on Lawson TV, Lil Win disclosed that he had only recently recovered from an illness after completing the production of his movie, A Journey to Africa.

He explained that he was travelling to Accra for a meeting to discuss arrangements for the premiere of the movie, which is expected to be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

According to the actor, heavy rainfall had begun shortly before the scheduled departure, raising expectations that the flight might be delayed.

However, the aircraft eventually took off, but passengers soon found themselves in a frightening situation as the plane experienced what he described as unusual upward and downward movements.

Lil Win said the sudden movements triggered panic in the cabin, with several passengers, including the Ashanti Regional Minister, screaming in fear.

Despite the tension, the actor said he tried to remain calm and reassure other passengers that they would arrive safely.

“We were all shouting, including the Ashanti Regional Minister and others, but I kept calming them down and telling them everything would be okay,” he recounted.

He further explained that the situation eventually stabilised after the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, allowing the journey to continue without further reported complications.

The flight subsequently landed safely in Accra, bringing an end to what the passengers have described as a terrifying experience.

Lil Win’s account follows an earlier narration by Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, who also recounted the frightening experience aboard the same PassionAir flight.

Although all passengers reportedly arrived safely, the incident has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the aircraft’s unusual movements, particularly amid the heavy rainfall experienced before departure.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of the incident had not been officially established. An explanation from the relevant aviation authorities would be important in clarifying what happened and addressing concerns about passenger safety on domestic flights.
