Former Al Ahly and Egyptian playmaker and forward, Aboutrika, has criticised severely, the Manchester United players for their horrible performances in the current season.

The Red Devils were embarrassed at Saint James Park on Sunday afternoon against Newcastle United, with the Magpies thrashing Manchester United by 4-1. A brace from Harvey Barnes and a goal each from Sandro Tonali and Joelinton destroyed Ruben Amorim’s side.

After the game, Mohamed Aboutrika, who is now a pundit on BEIN Sports in Qatar, criticized Manchester United players for the horror show at Newcastle United.

“The worst thing that can happen to any big club is getting used to defeat,” Aboutrika said.

Manchester United has become an easy target for almost all the Premier League clubs after being beaten easily this season.

“If a big team loses a game or two, everything turns upside down. Man United has lost 14 league games this season! 14!

“A truly catastrophic number that doesn’t befit a big club. How can the players not be held accountable?”

Aboutrika thinks the Red Devils players are to be held accountable for the club’s struggles.

Under Erik Ten Hag, the performances were so horrible leading to his sacking. Ruben Amorim is also struggling due to the player’s inability to adapt to his methods.

Manchester United will return to action on Thursday night in the second leg of the Euroleag against French side Olympique Lyonnais. The Red Devils secured a 2-2 draw in France and will look forward to qualifying for the semi-finals with a win.
