Two new lawyers who happen to be staunch members of Wesley Cathedral Methodist Church, Adum in Kumasi have thanked the Lord God Almighty for seeing them through their six years of legal education.
Lawyer Clement Opoku Gyamfi who is also the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South and Lawyer Akosua Acheampomaa are the new practitioners in town.
At a ‘Thanksgiving Service’ held on Sunday, 29 October 2023, the duo was accompanied by family members, District, Metropolitan, and Municipality Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region, and politicians across the divide and known media personalities.
According to them, the Almighty Creator provided, cared for, and walked them to this legal education.
Speaking to Kapital Online Team, the young lawyer cum politician did not hide his childhood dream of defending and helping the vulnerable.
“Firstly, I give thanks to the Almighty God, my family, and my friends who have been supporting me in all forms.
“Today, by the grace of God, I can also call myself a lawyer and that has been my childish dream. My desire to become a lawyer is to defend the rule of law and the vulnerable.”, Lawyer Opoku Gyamfi revealed to Kapital Reporter.
279 new lawyers were called to the Bar after undergoing a year’s law program at the Ghana School of Law.
The induction ceremony for the new lawyers was held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo at the induction ceremony entreated the new lawyers to uphold the right values of the profession.
