Without evidence, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) believes the Ashanti Region, the stronghold of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is lagging in terms of development under President Akufo-Addo.
NDC’s chief scribe in the region, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, at a press conference in Kumasi accused the Akufo-Addo government of neglecting the people in the region who voted massively for him to win the 2020 polls.
“We believe that the Ashanti Region has been sidelined, so far as development is concerned. And it’s even reflected in his appointments, ministers, Chief Executives and others.”
“We believe that this current NPP set-up has nothing to offer the Ashanti region,” Dr. Frank Amoakohene stated.
NDC alleges that the government, particularly President Akufo-Addo, has shown a deliberate lack of attention and allocation of resources to foster the growth of the Ashanti Region.
He, therefore urged Ghanaian electorates to vote against the ruling NPP in the upcoming December 7 polls.
