The National Sports Authority served Accra Hearts of Oak, Accra Great Olympics and Accra Lions a notice to vacate the Accra Sports Stadium for it to be hired out for the Christmas festivals for musical concerts.

Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku in response expressed his disappointment in the NSA for their awkward decision to close down the venue and suggested it should never happen again.

NSA boss has responded to Kurt Okraku’s comment. Professor Twumasi said, ” It is quite unfortunate Kurt Okraku made such a response to the NSA. I requested 2 million dollars from the World Cup money for facility maintenance, what stopped him from supporting my request? ”

The NSA’s decision to close down Accra Sports Stadium has caused many reactions from football fans in the country as they have condemned the act and do not expect it to be repeated.
