Instead of him focusing on his teaching, Smart Kumi, a 27-year-old teacher who by all means wanted to sleep with his colleague’s female teacher, employed blackmail to get into her pants.
Though they were friends, the young male teacher wanted more than that.
Kumi proposed a romantic relationship to Bernadette Dzigbordi Agbeko, but she declined.
Kumi was disillusioned about her decision. He then threatened to use the lady’s nude photos to blackmail her into sleeping with him.
However, the blackmail did not deter Bernadette from reporting the matter to the authorities.
Bernadette Dzigbordi, a teacher at Modern Preparatory School, a privately owned school in Odumase-Krobo, told police that she maintained a casual friendship with the suspect after declining his proposal.
She explained that during the period, she occasionally used Kumi’s iPhone to take personal pictures, unaware that he was secretly keeping them for malicious purposes.
According to the prosecutors, Kumi began sending the images back to Dzigbordi, demanding sexual favours.
He threatened to publish the photos on her social media and other platforms if she refused.
Kumi has been arrested and sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labour for sex extortion.
