The Office of Senior Pastor Mark Benyin has strongly debunked widespread social media reports claiming that the prominent Ghanaian clergyman is wanted by the Ghana Police Service.
In an official press release issued on Sunday, the leadership of the ministry categorically denied the allegations, describing them as baseless and completely false.
The office urged church members and the general public to remain calm while the situation is handled through proper legal channels.
The controversy erupted over the weekend when a digital publication began circulating across various social media platforms, alleging that law enforcement agencies had flagged the senior pastor as a wanted man.
Responding swiftly to the viral claims, Pastor Benyin’s administration released a formal statement to clear the air.
According to the office, the senior pastor has absolutely no knowledge of any criminal investigation or police pursuit against him.
“The attention of the Office of Senior Pastor Mark Benyin has been drawn to a malicious publication circulating on social media, indicating that he is wanted by the Ghana Police Service,” the statement read.
It added, The office hereby informs the general public that Senior Pastor Mark Benyin has no knowledge whatsoever regarding the basis of this publication.”
To address the origin of the reports and protect the clergyman’s reputation, the ministry has officially handed the matter over to its legal counsel.
The legal team has been instructed to investigate the source of the publication and take appropriate statutory action against those spreading the misinformation.
“The matter has been forwarded to his lawyers to look into it and act accordingly,” the press release stated, signaling that defamation lawsuits or formal petitions to the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service may be imminent.
The management of the church has appealed to followers and the public to exercise maximum restraint and avoid panic or speculation.
They emphasized that the ministry remains focused on its core mandate and will not be distracted by orchestrated attempts to malign the pastor’s character.
