The Tema Circuit Court ‘A’, presided over by Her Honour Maame Yaa Amoakoaa Kusi Mensah, has remanded 35‑year‑old Anaglate Mends Edem Kwashie into custody for allegedly defiling a 14‑year‑old JHS graduate.
Anaglate Mends, a husband and father of three, serves as the Administrator of Ridoana Comprehensive School in Atadeka, where the victim was a student.
Prosecutor Inspector Linda Adenyo explained that after the victim completed her final BECE exam on Friday, May 8, 2026, her elder sister, Lawrencia Ahorsu, noticed she appeared unusually sad.
Later that day, Anaglate called the victim’s phone, but Lawrencia answered. During the call, Anaglate pleaded with the victim not to end their relationship and offered to resolve any issues between them.
Suspicious, Lawrencia checked the victim’s Snapchat messages and discovered explicit conversations and evidence of sexual encounters with Anaglate.
When confronted, the victim admitted to being in an intimate relationship with him and recalled meeting him at a guest house, though she could not specify the location.
According to the prosecution, Anaglate allegedly used winding routes to take the victim to the guest house, where he engaged in sexual acts with her.
Disturbed by the revelation, Lawrencia reported the matter to the Atadeka Police, leading to Anaglate’s arrest and subsequent court appearance.
