Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Minister of Energy and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, has dismissed any notion that the Movement for Change, which was started by Alan Kyerematen, may pose a challenge to the ruling party.
According to NAPO, as he affectionately called, the only member of their team that they are afraid of is Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and that they cannot be threatened by Alan’s movement, which is symbolized by a mear butterfly.
“We don’t govern a nation with beauty. There is no animal beautiful than the butterfly but because it can’t govern it dies after just two days,” he stated.
Speaking to NPP youth in the Ashanti Region at a recent conference, NAPO explained that Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin Central MP came second in the presidential primary, and that actually makes him someone the NPP should be afraid of, not Alan.
“If there is someone we should fear it should be Kennedy Agyapong. He was the one that over 33.5% voted for when we recently conducted elections,” he said.
He, however, “But even with him, he emphatically stated after a week that he will not leave the NPP today or tomorrow. He even admitted that the election was free and fair,” he said.
