The Tamale Central Hospital, per multiple reports, has already started to feel the absence of some casual staff.

Some of the casual staff are embarking on a sit-down strike, leaving so many departments calling for help.

Secretary for the hospital attendants whose duties do not involve the medical treatment of patients on Channel One News, Baba Sulemana Adams, revealed that they are not returning to work until they have been paid their five months’ salaries.

“We have been here for about 15 years as casual workers. And we have a problem with our salary. We have worked for almost five months without salary, and due to that, that’s why we went on this strike.

“We even went to our management during the Ramadan fasting to explain our situation,” he disclosed.

Issues of unpaid salaries are extremely worrisome because it makes workers so lazy and inactive.

The casual staff of the Tamale Teaching Hospital have promised to return to their various duties when they are paid.
