Real Tamale United is in huge trouble a few weeks before the commencement of the Second Round of the Ghana Premier League.

The Tamale-based club is facing serious financial problems which threaten to jeopardise their season.

The communication Director, Rafique Abdulai has revealed the severe financial difficulties the club is currently going through. He disclosed this on Zangali FM sports night show;

“As we speak now, all clubs have begun training towards the second round but RTU has not started because of money issues. We don’t even have money to buy sachet water for players during training”, indicated Rafique Abdulai.

“The players have started having meetings among themselves. They have disclosed that they will not report for the second round of the season if their salaries and winning bonuses are not sorted out” he added.

Real Tamale United are suffering on the pitch in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season as they are lying 17th on the league log after playing 17 games. They have just won 17 points from a possible 51 beating the bottom-placed team Heart of Lions by just 2 points.

The Ghana Premier League resumes on 25th February with RTU travelling to face Accra Hearts of Oak.
