At the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday in Week 9 of the Ghana Premeir League, Asante Kotoko lost 1-0 to Heart of Lions.

The defeat has not been accepted by most of the fans as they think Heart of Lions whose players have not been paid for the last four months should not beat Fabulous.

Former Hearts of Oak forward Kojo Obeng Junior scored the only goal of the game in the first half to pile more pressure on Fabulous.

After the game, head coach Prosper Ogum told the press that they lost to Heart of Lions due to fatigue.

“We looked very tired on the field. The stress of the journey from Kumasi to Anyinase is about nine hours; we played on Sunday and then travelled another 10 hours to Accra. After that, we played on Wednesday and had to travel all the way from Accra back to Kumasi. You could see they were tired. It was fatigue that affected our performance”, Ogum said.

Kotoko drew 1-1 against Basake Holy Stars last weekend in Anyinase before losing 2-1 in midweek to lowly Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon on last Wednesday.

Playing these two games away from home was always going to hurt Fabulous because of the distance from Kumasi to those areas.

Asante Kotoko has won just 1 point from the last 9 and it is worrying for the Porcupine Warriors family.

Fabulous will teavel to Bechem to face Bechem United in Week 10 and it could be a make or break for Prosper Ogum Narteh, the head coach of Asante Kotoko.
