Asamoah Gyan always credit his brother, Baffour Gyan, for playing a very key role in his success.

The former Sunderland and Udinese striker, Asamoah Gyan, has revealed that his brother phoned him when he moved to Sunderland in 2010 in a record deal for the Black Cats.

Sunderland paid £13 million to Rennes with Gyan penning a four year deal. It was then Gyan started making money as he signed a bumper deal compared to his previous deals.

Baby Jet lamented how footballers do not care about future because they are enjoying cash every moment when they are playing.

“As football players, we don’t think about tomorrow because we feel like we are earning every month, you know, a lot of money,”

The all time African top scorer at the FIFA World Cup has narrated how all his investments started.

“When I got to England, my brother called me and he said, listen, it’s time to invest. Let’s try and build something. That was when everything started,” Gyan said.

“Footballers, we have a very short career. Football is a temporal job. Maximum, you start from 18, the professional level, and then your prime is around 25 to 30, 31, 32. That is when your prime ends.”

Asamoah Gyan is known to be among the richest former African footballers after playing in Italy, France, England, China, India, Turkey and Ghana.
