The assassination of MoMo vendors in Ghana has become so rife that more than 10 vendors have been assassinated by robbers in 2025. Many killing reports have been made to the Ghana Police Service, with investigations underway.

The Ghana Police Service has remanded a 65-year-old father and son for assassinating a MoMo vendor in April, per news from Crime Check TV GH.

Happy Sewordor, 65, has been remanded alongside his son, Michael Sewornu, in Gbagblakope, a suburb in Aflao in the Volta Region, in connection with the murder of a MoMo vendor named Christopher Ahordor on 28th April 2025.

Among the eight suspects, Happy Sewordor and Michael Sewornu have been arrested for investigation.

How he was murdered

Christopher was attacked by two assailants who emerged from a nearby bush when he was about to leave work. The killers fired warning shots in the air before shooting Christopher at close range.

Police investigations led to the arrest of Happy Sewordor, who was found in possession of illicit drugs, quantities of Indian hemp, a single-barrel cap gun, a locally manufactured pistol, and empty cartridges.
