Week 13 of the Ghana Premier League did not fail, per fans’ expectations. The action got off on Friday with Sweduru ALL Blacks securing their first away win of the season with an emphatic 2-0 victory over the beleaguered Eleven Wonders. A brace from Rudolf Mensah settled the contest. All Blacks are now three points clear of the relegation zone with Eleven Wonders remaining rooted at the bottom of the table, having won just 6 points from 13 games.

On Saturday, Nations FC defeated Heart of Lions 2-1 at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese. Prince Badu’s strike in the 86th minute made the difference.

Vision FC and Young Apostles drew goalless in Tema at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.

Samartex in Samraboi defeated defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars 2-0 through Emmanuel Essien and Emmanuel Mamah’s first-half goals.

Medeama came from behind to beat Berekum Chelsea 2-1. Faisal Shaibu’s 13th-minute strike put Samuel Boadu’s side in front. After tactical discipline and defensive solidity at the back, Chelsea ended the first half with a lead. Ibrahim Tanko’s Medeama through Jacob Mensah equalised in the 59th minute. Salim Adams’ 71st-minute goal condemned the travellers to another defeat away. Medeama have opened a two-point lead over Aduana Stars, who surprisingly drew goalless at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park in Dormaa-Ahenkro.

Hearts of Oak tasted their first away defeat with a 2-0 loss at Karela. Two first-half goals from Eric Antwi Kodua helped Karela beat Phobia. Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, is under immense pressure after being eliminated by a Division Two side in the Round 64 of the MTN FA Cup at Pobiman.

Yaw Annor’s goal for Bechem United was a mere consolation as the Bechem-based club lost 2-1 at Dreams. Regain Boa-At’s own goal in the 7th minute put Dreams ahead. Razak Salifu made it 2-0 with just 17 minutes played before Annor reduced the deficit for Bechem United.

Newly promoted side Hohoe United via William Oduro’s first-half goal condemned Asante Kotoko to their second defeat in four games. The Porcupine Warriors are now winless in their last four games. Pressure is mounting on Abdul Karim-Zito, whose side is now five points behind leaders Medeama.
