Liverpool have completed the signing of France winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123 million, making him the club’s second most expensive signing of all time behind the £125 million paid for striker Alexander Isak last summer.

The 23-year-old has signed a long-term contract running to 2031, with Liverpool paying around £106 million up front and the remainder in add-ons.

A source close to PSG described the fee as €125 million plus €20 million in easily achievable bonuses, figures that also mark the highest ever paid for a player leaving Ligue 1.

Barcola was a key part of PSG’s Ligue 1 and Champions League double, scoring 21 goals and providing 19 assists in all competitions during a standout 2024-25 campaign, though he had slipped down the pecking order in Paris in the 2025-26 season and had yet to feature for the club this season amid the transfer speculation.

He also impressed for France at this summer’s World Cup, scoring three goals in eight appearances.

Liverpool see him as their long-term successor to Mohamed Salah on the right and left flanks, with head coach Arne Slot having made strengthening in wide areas a priority all summer.

The move takes Liverpool’s spending since the end of the last two seasons to more than £660 million, following the signings of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Victor Munoz, Giovanni Leoni and Jeremie Jacquet.

Barcola’s arrival is also expected to pave the way for Cody Gakpo’s departure from Anfield, with both Manchester City and Tottenham having registered interest in the Dutch forward, with Maresca’s side seriously monitoring the Dutch attacker.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Barcola said: “Playing at Anfield and the influence of manager Andoni Iraola made me decide to join Liverpool an easy one”.

He is expected to make his debut in week 3 of the English Premier League when the Reds travel to Ipswich Town, who were mauled by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
