Steadfast FC is a Division One League club based in Tamale, the Northern Region of Ghana.

Ghanaian lawyer and politician, Haruna Iddrisu is the owner of the club. He is also the owner of the Ghana Premier League club Karela United.

The politician has earned a whopping €7.9 million due to the Sell-on-Clause they inserted in the contract of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s move from Steadfast FC to Sporting CP.

“I’m into full time football business now”- said Hon Haruna Iddrisu, Member of Parliament for Tamale South after Fatawu’s move.

The Foxes permanently signed Fatawu Issahaku in a €17 million deal from Sporting after a successful loan on Monday.

Leicester City activated the clause in Issahaku’s contract, who was purchased by Sporting Lisbon in 2022 for €1.2 million.

The value gain on the transfer will be shared between Steadfast FC and Sporting Lisbon, that was the deal the two teams struck. Steadfast are set to receive €7.9 million after Fatawu’s move to England from Portugal.

This is unprecedented in the history of Ghanaian football as no club has ever acquired such a huge sum of money on Sell-On-Clause agreement. In fact, it is one of the biggest “Sell-on-Clause” deals in world football.
