Friendly games commenced on Friday with Angola drawing goalless against DR Congo as Islam Slimani and Rami Bensaini’s brace recorded a 3-0 win for the 2019 champions, Algeria.
Iran beat Burkina Faso 2-1 and Ghana’s group opponent, Mozambique defeated Lesotho 2-0.
Host Ivory Coast destroyed Sierra Leone 5-1 in San Pedro as five different players scored for Ivory Coast. Diomande, Boga, Kessie, Bamba and Lazare all find the back of the net for the Elephants.
Mali thrashed another AFCON-bound Guinea Bissau 6-2 in Bamako with Dorgeles Nene scoring a brace. Kamory Doumbia and Falaye Sacko were all on the score sheet.
