Thomas Partey, 30, has been out for Arsenal since the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League in Week 8 on 8th October 2023 when he made a 16-minute cameo.
The midfielder has since had surgery on his thigh after suffering the injury with the final kick in training before Arsenal’s Champions League match against Sevilla earlier this season.
Chris Hughton, the Ghana head coach, said that Partey’s injury was the biggest he has suffered in his career.
“I’ve spent a lot period with Thomas and Arsenal staff”.
“They will treat this injury with caution, and so will the player. This is a big injury for him and the biggest injury that he’s had”, continued Houghton.
Thomas Partey missed out on Ghana’s final 27-man squad for the 2023 AFCON revealed by Chris Houghton on Monday as the midfielder is not fully fit and he is now recovering from the three-month absence.
AFCON 2023 kicks off less than 2 weeks later in Ivory Coast with Ghana set to play Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.
