The leading producer of statistics in football, Opta Analyst has ranked the countries that are likely to lift the 2023 AFCON.
The UK-based statistics producer in sports ranked the defending champions, Senegal, as the favourites to lift the trophy with a chance of 12.8% with the host Ivory Coast the second favourite with a 12.1% chance of winning the trophy at home.
Egypt, 7-time winners of the tournament was ranked as the 5th favourite to win the trophy with a chance of 8.5%.
Ghana was ranked as the 9th favourite team by Opta Analyst to win AFCON 2023 with a 5.3% chance as 5 times winners, Cameroon is the 7th favourite team to lift the competition with a 7.4% chance.
North African powerhouses, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia are all ranked among the favourites to win the AFCON trophy by Opta.
