Round 31 of the Ghana Premier League commenced on Saturday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the relegation-threatened Accra Lions defeated Aduana Stars 5-3. Accra Lions took a commanding 5-0 lead before the Ogya Boys scored three late goals. Hamzata Musa, Lucky Nwafor (brace) and Faris Tahiru’s goals gave Accra Lions a 4-0 lead in the first half. Faris Tahiru scored his second of the game to make it 5-0 in the 62nd minute. Emmanuel Peprah’s quick brace and Emmanuel Marfo’s injury-time strike helped Aduana save themselves from embarrassment. Accra Lions remain in the relegation zone, even though they are just two points behind 15th-placed Young Apostles.
A brace from Kwame Poku helped Asante Kotoko to defeat Dreams FC 4-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Albert Amoah and Nigerian forward Bassey Wisdom were also on the score sheet for the Porcupine Warriors. Jonathan Nemorden’s trike for the Still Believe was a mere consolation. The Porcupine Warriors are still in contention for the title and are just two points behind league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.

Title chasers Hear of Lions drew goalless at Basake Holy Stars. A win could have sent them to second, but they failed to do what title chasers do at a crucial stage. The club remains 4th on the log.
Karela beat Medeama 3-1 to ease relegation fears. A brace from Abubakar Malik made the difference. Karela has moved to 13th place and is three points above the relegation zone.
Samartex defeated Bechem United 2-1 at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samraboi. The defending champions have moved to 7th on the log and are 6 points behind the top 4.
Vision FC, through goals from Edmond Asante and Kyei Baffour Emmanuel in the 82nd and 88th minutes, defeated Young Apostles 2-0. Vision FC can now breathe as they are 5 points above the relegation zone, while Young Apostles are in a relegation fight.
