Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC has appointed Nebojsa Kapor as the club’s new Head Coach, the Board of Directors announced in a statement issued on Friday, July 25, 2026.
The UEFA-licensed tactician signs a two-year contract, following what the club described as an extensive recruitment process aimed at restoring the Phobians to domestic and continental prominence.
Kapor arrives with substantial experience in the Ghana Premier League, having previously managed Tema Youth FC, Bechem United FC, and Medeama SC.
According to the club’s statement, his tactical expertise, deep understanding of the local game, and progressive coaching philosophy set him apart during the selection process.
Hearts of Oak management further noted that Kapor is known for building competitive, attacking sides anchored in discipline and youth development — an approach the Board says aligns closely with its long-term vision for the club.
The appointment is expected to be the first of several technical changes at the club in the coming weeks, as Hearts of Oak continues preparations for the upcoming season.
Management expressed confidence that Kapor possesses the leadership and technical competence required to guide the club into a new era of stability and success, and called on the “Phobian family” to rally behind the new gaffer and his technical team.
“Welcome to Hearts of Oak, Coach Nebojsa Kapor,” the statement read, signed off by Hearts of Oak Management as the club sets its sights on reclaiming its place at the summit of Ghanaian and African football.
Hearts ended the marriage with Mas-Ud Didid Dramani at the end of the 2025-26 season, when the club finished 3rd in the league title race.
