These are the words from Inaki Arthuer Williams of Athletic Bilbao when quizzed on his decision to represent Ghana.

The 29-year-old Williams was born to Ghanaian parents in Bilbao, Spain in 1994. Inaki Williams has represented Spanish U21 17 times, the Spanish senior national team just once and has represented the Basque Country twice.

In 2022, Inaki decided to represent Ghana after not getting call-ups from Spain. The forward played in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 AFCON. He has won 17 caps and scored once since he decided to play for Ghana.

The 29-year-old forward says he doesn’t regret his decision to present Ghana simply because it’s the country of his parents and other family members.
