Renowned Ghanaian musician Martin King Arthur, popularly known as Kofi Kinaata, has been honoured with the ‘Youth in Entertainment Award’ by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in recognition of his exceptional contribution to social transformation through music.
The award was presented on Friday, May 9, 2025, at a grand ceremony held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi as part of the Otumfuo Millennium Excellence Awards.
Kofi Kinaata, a three-time Songwriter of the Year winner at the Ghana Music Awards, is celebrated for his socially conscious lyrics and music that often addresses real-life issues such as morality, personal responsibility, education, and poverty.
He won the Songwriter of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards on Saturday again.
His work resonates deeply with Ghanaian youth and the general public, and he has often been described as a moral voice in the entertainment industry.
This recognition from the Manhyia Palace comes months after Otumfuo Osei Tutu II publicly praised Kinaata’s hit song Susuka, describing it as “full of wisdom” during the General Conference of the Ghana Bar Association in September 2024.
The monarch’s citation at the time acknowledged the musician’s role in educating the youth and fostering critical reflection through his art.
