Mr Eazi has released “Comfort”, a new single featuring Ghanaian-American singer MOLIY, whose “Shake It to the Max (FLY)” became a global hit.
Produced by Nigerian hitmaker Ragee, the track combines Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop and R&B through a bouncing rhythm, bright bass synthesiser line and relaxed vocal performances. Its sound revisits the fusion Mr Eazi calls Banku Music.
“This is an updated version of my signature sound,” Mr Eazi said. “I’m making gyal dem musicsweet, easy, flattering gyal dem music.”
The song was recorded during a stay in London this summer. Its video, directed by Ademola Falomo, uses an ’80s-inspired, retro-futurist style, with telephone hotline adverts, laser-grid graphics, shopping-mall photo studio sets and oversized mobile phones.
A Ghana connection
Although Mr Eazi was born in Nigeria, his musical identity developed in Ghana after he moved to Kumasi to study at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
His early work there included “Bankulize”, featuring Ghanaian rapper Pappy Kojo and produced by Ghanaian-British producer Juls. The record helped bring his blend of Ghanaian influences, Nigerian melodies and Pidgin storytelling to a wider audience.
Mr Eazi later worked with Juls again on “Skin Tight”, featuring Ghanaian singer Efya. The song became one of the defining releases of his early career and a key example of the Banku Music sound.
His other collaborations with Ghanaian artists include “Anointing” with Sarkodie, “Dance For Me” with Eugy and “Dabebi” with King Promise. He has also worked with producer GuiltyBeatz on “Akwaaba”, featuring Patapaa and Pappy Kojo, and “Pilolo”, featuring Kwesi Arthur.
Juls, GuiltyBeatz and KillBeatz have all contributed to his catalogue. KillBeatz produced “Business”, featuring Mugeez of R2Bees, and “Dabebi”, which also features King Promise and Maleek Berry.
That history makes “Comfort” a natural collaboration with MOLIY. Her “Shake It to the Max (FLY)” remix reached number one on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart before entering the Billboard Hot 100.
The release is the latest in a busy 2026 for Mr Eazi. He has issued “Lambo”, featuring Vybz Kartel, “Hide Your Love” and “Remember That” with US-based dancehall producer Dre Skull. In April, he released the collaborative album See What We’ve Done with King Promise.
Mr Eazi, a GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY Award-winning musician and entrepreneur, has more than two billion global streams. He founded emPawa Africa, which has helped develop Joeboy, Fave and J.Derobie, and co-founded Choplife Soundsystem with DJ Edu in 2023.
His catalogue includes Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1: Accra To Lagos, Life Is Eazi, Vol. 2: Lagos To London and The Evil Genius, alongside songs such as “Skin Tight”, “Leg Over”, “Miss You Bad” and “Patek”.
