Stonebwoy’s Head of Public Relations, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has criticised Sarkodie over his reported decision to repost a controversial video involving amputees.

Speaking to DJ Slim on Class FM on 26 October 2026, Vida said the rapper’s position failed to recognise the discrimination and access problems faced by people with disabilities in Ghana.

She challenged Sarkodie to repost the video, arguing that doing so would demonstrate whether he understood the concerns raised by those affected.

Vida said people with disabilities continued to encounter significant barriers, including limited access to entertainment venues. She called for greater sensitivity in public discussions about disability and urged people to consider how their words and actions might affect others.

Although she initially acknowledged that Sarkodie may have overlooked the wider implications of the issue, Vida said that discrimination against people with disabilities remained a serious concern.

She also praised Stonebwoy for drawing attention to those challenges, particularly issues affecting the Black Challenge, Ghana’s national amputee football team.

According to Vida, Stonebwoy’s concerts include designated areas where patrons with disabilities, including wheelchair users, can watch performances alongside other fans. She presented that approach as an example of how entertainment events could be made more inclusive.

Vida also reminded the public that disability could affect anyone as a result of an accident or other unforeseen circumstances. She therefore called on people to show more understanding towards those living with disabilities.

Her strongest criticism was directed at Sarkodie’s reported comments during an interview with Serwaa Amihere. The rapper was reported to have said that, if given another opportunity, he would repost the video.

Vida questioned that response, saying Sarkodie could instead have recognised the concerns raised and apologised to anyone who had been offended by the post.

She objected to the reported suggestion that nobody could dictate what the musician shared on social media, arguing that the response did not address the experiences of people with disabilities or the reaction to the video.

The Stonebwoy PR executive maintained that a more considerate reply would have helped acknowledge the concerns of those involved and contributed to a more constructive discussion about inclusion.
