Wembley Stadium will welcome German side Borussia Dortmund after beating French champions PSG 2-0 on aggregate. The last time the iconic venue hosted the finals of the UCL was in 2013 when Jupp Heynckes’ Bayern Munchen defeated Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund 2-1.

Dortmund has since then never made it to the finals of the UEFA Champions League.

At the Parc de Princes in Paris, Paris Saint Germain dominated the determined German side Dortmund but couldn’t do the needful after squandering many chances.

The best chance of the first half came in the 35th minute when Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi weaved through the PSG defence and had his powerful shot saved by Donarumma impressively.

The first half ended goalless with both sides looking good to break the deadlock in the second half.

PSG started the second half well with the teenager Zaire-Emery failing to score from point-blank range as his effort rattled the right post.

The decisive moment arrived in the 50th minute when Mats Hummels jumped highest inside the box to perfectly meet Julian Brandt’s corner kick and executed a powerful header into the back of the net to give the Germans a great lead.

The last 30 minutes of the game were all PSG as they hit the woodwork on three separate occasions. Luck was not on Luis Enrique’s young men’s side.

Borussia Dortmund has shocked everyone as they were not considered to reach the finals of the competition.

They now await the winner of Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen who are set to battle for the final slot at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid on Wednesday night.
