Ace sports broadcaster and SWAG president, Kwabena Yeboah, has called for the inclusion of Kotoko’s stalwart midfielder Richmond Lamptey in the Black Stars for the 2023 AFCON to be played in Ivory Coast between 13th January and 11th February.

“We cannot go to La Cote d’Ivoire leaving the Premier League’s best midfielder behind, said Kwabena Yeboah.

He continued, “It would be an indictment on our league.

“Besides, Lamptey is better than some of the midfielders in the team. It shouldn’t be a crime for one to play in Ghana.”

The former WAFA midfielder, Richmond Lamptey, put up a 10/10 performance on Sunday in the Super Clash as he dictated the game with his incisive passes which resulted in a man of the match award.

Calls for Lamptey to be part of the Black Stars have been strong recently and Lamptey rubber-stamped the reason why he deserves a call-up with an exquisite display on Sunday in Kotoko’s 3-2 win over Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
