The documentary The Williams, aimed at combating racism, was unveiled in Bilbao on Monday, showcasing the inspiring journey of brothers Inaki and Nico Williams.

Following the presentation, Nico emphasized the film’s core message: immigrants come not to cause harm but to forge a better future.

“People who come from outside do not come to do any harm. They come to make a living, to work, and to achieve a better future,” the Athletic Bilbao winger stated, highlighting the contributions of immigrants.

Inaki Williams supported this sentiment, expressing hope that the documentary’s powerful message will resonate with a broader audience.

“The film is a clear example of this,” he noted, underscoring the importance of sharing their story beyond the Basque Country.

“We hope it reaches a lot of people because it’s important. We want it to help others understand and support without expecting anything in return.”

Directed by Raúl de la Fuente, the documentary delves into the lives of the Williams brothers, tracing their family roots back to Ghana, where their parents emigrated.

While Inaki represents Ghana on the international stage, Nico plays for Spain and played a pivotal role in their recent Euro 2024 triumph.

The Williams brothers aspire for the documentary to transcend borders and alter perceptions, illustrating the positive impact of immigrants and fostering greater empathy within society.
