The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season kicked off in style as Vision FC delivered a statement performance, thrashing Wenchi-based side Young Apostles 3-0 at the Nii Ajei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema.
A brace from Agetey Setsofia and a well-taken strike from Nyenye Naziru condemned the visitors to a chastening opening-day defeat, played out on an astroturf surface under a blazing hot sun.
From the first whistle, Vision FC set the tone, dictating the tempo and controlling proceedings with composure and purpose.
They pressed high, attacked with intent, and piled incessant pressure on a fragile Young Apostles side that never looked settled.
The visitors were flat throughout, struggling to string together meaningful attacks or offer any real threat going forward, and were made to pay for their lack of ideas.
Setsofia was the standout performer on the day, netting twice to underline his early-season sharpness, while Naziru’s goal capped off a dominant display that left no doubt about which side deserved the three points.
With the win, Vision FC top the Ghana Premier League table after matchday one, a statement of intent for a side that will be eager to carry this form into the weeks ahead. Young Apostles, on the other hand, find themselves at the bottom of the standings, and will be desperate to arrest the slide quickly.
