Abdul Fatawu Issahaku assisted Jamie Vardy to score Leicester City’s second goal in their 2-1 win over West Brom in Week 43 of the English Championship.

In a must-win game for Leicester City, Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi opened the scoring for the home side in the 22nd minute. Jamie Vardy missed a crucial penalty on the stroke of halftime for the Foxes. The game ended 1-0 in favour of the home side at halftime.

In the 65th minute of the second half, the 20-year-old Ghanaian winger Fatawu Issahaku showed great technique and produced a beautifully lofted cross into the box for the veteran Jamie Vardy to head it into the back of the net to double Leicester City’s lead.

Jed Wallace with 15 minutes to end the game scored to pull one back for West Brom but they could not equalise as Leicester City protected their lead and won the needed 3 points.

Fatawu Issahaku has now been directly involved in 14 league goals in 37 games for the Foxes.

Leicester City are now on top of the Championship table with 3 games to end the season. They are 2 and 4 points ahead of 2nd place Ipswich Town and 3rd place Leeds United respectively.

Leicester City needs 6 points from the final 3 games to secure automatic promotion back to the EPL.
