Many predicted Leicester City to return immediately to the English Premier League when they were relegated last season.

They went down with Vardy, Verstergaard, Pereira, Ndidi, Faes, Albrighton, Justin, Winks, Choudhury and Daka. These are experienced and pretty good players who are too good for the Championship and they have teiɔy delivered as expected.

The Foxes have made those who believed in them proud by returning to the top tier of English football and the icing on the cake was on Monday night when they won 3-0 against Preston North North End in Preston at the Deepdalebto lift the trophy.

Veteran Jamie Vardy who was part of Leicester City’s squad that won the Championship a decade ago scored a brace while Abdul Fatawu Issahaku provided the assist for Katey McAteer to round up a beautiful evening for Enzo Maresca’s charges.

Leicester City are the champions of the 2023-24 English Championship.
