Kumasi Mayor, Sam Pyne has assured traders in the central business centre, Adum of a safer place to ply their businesses of buying and selling.

The Mayor explains this only come to pass if the second of the Kejetia market project is completed

“The Market Face 2 project has been halted, but it is not intentional. This is because of the government’s debt-restructuring program, but I know soon we will resume work, and when we are done, everyone will get a place so that we will move them from the street,” Samuel Payne said.

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Star Ghana Foundation Leadership, and United Petty Traders Association have held a meeting to address the problems and issues affecting businesses in Kumasi

The Mayor of KMA revealed that the traders are no longer interested in selling on pavements and unauthorized places

“I’m happy that they have realized that where they sit to sell their products is not a marketplace, and they have promised to help us manage the situation.”, Hon. Samuel Pyne said.
