Confirmed: Supersport will not broadcast AFCON 2023

The Scorpions of Gambia did not turn up for training on Tuesday evening due to unpaid bonuses. Players were scheduled to train in front of an excited crowd at the Independent Stadium but decided to halt it because they were owed bonuses.

Coach Tom Saintfiet addressed the irate crowds, some of whom paid to watch the session. The Federation is now in talks with the players because the 2023 AFCON is just around the corner.

Fans for the national team expressed their dissatisfaction with the Federation as they advised the Football Association of The Gambia to resolve the issue with the team before they depart for the much anticipated 2023 AFCON.

The Gambia Football Association has yet to comment on the issue.

Gambia is in a very difficult group alongside Cameroon, Senegal and Guinea and therefore needs all the motivation and concentration to deliver.
