Chief of Army Staff, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah has claimed that he was attacked in the line of duty.

Without providing many details, Major General Oppong-Peprah said his name stirs stomachs and heads among the rank and file in the security service.

Joy News quoted him as saying, “The name Oppong-Preprah stirs stomachs and heads and creates fear in people. I don’t understand why and so I have been attacked and they keep attacking me.”

According to the Security Capo, rumors that he declined an appointment as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) by President Akufo-Addo is untrue.

“Even this morning just before I got here, a publication was sent to me where it is being indicated that I have refused to accept the appointment of CDS, and as a result, there is a stop in the military shakeup.”

“It is teamwork, it is not me, Oppong-Preprah so don’t attack me” he pointed out.
