Finance professor, Godfred Bokpin of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), has attacked the ‘honeymoon’ plea by the flagbearer of the Nation
Finance professor, Godfred Bokpin of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), has attacked the ‘honeymoon’ plea by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.
“Some time can be devoted to reviewing the past. Yes, we will do that, but more time should be devoted to doing the right thing from day one. There cannot be any longer honeymoon.” the lecturer stated on Joy News.
The former President and the NDC flagbearer had pleaded that in the likely event, that he wins the upcoming December 7 polls, Ghanaians should give him a ‘honeymoon’ to fix the so-called economic mess of the Akufo-Addo government.
However, Mr. Bokpin believes Mr. Mahama’s plea is not tenable since he has been in office before as a Vice president and a President.
According to Mr. Bokpin, any attempts to blame the current government for the country’s problems could lead to disaffection among the people.
“Development must be about people, preserve our planet earth and peace. So the development that divides Ghanaians is not development. We want development that brings Ghanaians together as one people, regardless of our tribal affiliations.” he pointed out.
