Real Tamale United’s 1-0 win over Medeama was marred by the collapse of a match commissioner in Tamale.
The Week 13 postponed fixture saw RTU record an important 1-0 win over the defending champions, Medeama SC. The Pride of the North entered the game having lost 5 games consecutively and needed a win at all cost.
Fuseini Mustapha’s 9th-minute strike ensured the Tamale-based club headed into the break leading by a lone goal.
The horrible moment that will overshadow this crucial win happened 10 minutes from time as a fan threw a sachet of water which hit the back of the head of the match commissioner, Charles Darkwa.
The game was resumed after it was halted for a while with RTU holding on to their 1-0 lead. They have now moved out of the relegation zone but with just 1 point ahead of the 17th-placed team Karela.
Medeama SC are in a horrible moment as they have won just one in their last 6 games.
