Charles Kwablah Akonnor, 49, has urged Ghanaians to be cool and calm for Chris Houghton and give their support to the Black Stars.
The former skipper for the Black Stars and coach in an interview with Joy Sports explained why Ghanaians must need to be calm and give their support to the underfire Chris Houghton.
“I know what he is going through. It’s a difficult time. Sometimes, you can get confused especially when the whole nation comes at you,” the former coach said in an interview with Joy Sports.
“We need to be calm. There is a need for calmness to prepare well, get focused and have a strategy as to how we can go into this tournament.
“It’s a big deal for us as a football nation but we need to calm down and allow him to prepare the team adequately so we can go to this tournament and do well.”
Chris Houghton has been struggling with the Black Stars as a clear plan has not been seen by Ghaians. Also, preparations towards the AFCON have not been the best.
AFCON is exactly a month away before the big kickoff in Ivory Coast. Ghana is in the same group as Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
