At the WAFA Park in Sogakope, Samartex recorded an incredible 3-1 win over Accra Lions.

Dauda Yussif Seidu opened the scoring for the away side in the 8th minute. Baba Hamadu Musah doubled the away team’s lead seven minutes later.

Nurudeen Amadu’s Samartex took a commanding lead in the first half as it was almost an impossible task for Accra Lions to bounce back.

Shawkan Hunalf Mohammed pulled one back for Accra Lions in the 81st minute as hope for at least a point was restored.

Micheal Ephson made sure the 3 points were secured for Samartex in the 3rd minute of the additional time.

The win means Samartex has extended their lead to five points over Aduana Stars and will end the first round on top of the league.

Accra Lions remains 9th with 20 points from 17 games.
